Darwin asked:
well am not a bad rugby player. by far my best attribute is tackling, i can catch passes and high balls.
however i am a little smaller then the rest of the lads on my team but theres no way am the worst player yet every game am left on the subs bench, just because my couch dosn’t want me getting hurt.
however when ever i do play i get complemented by everyone of my team mates. so what should i say to the couch to get me playing?

Yes that I also do not understand.
Ball skills are much more impotent then size. You will also see it in a lot of teams how the play-makers are moved to fullback or the wings?
What I would do is that I would ask the coach what is his game plan. If he wants to play a lot with the forwards then yes size does matter. But if he wants to run the ball and also needs good defense.(because the game opens up) he will need better ball handlers.
Let him think you are thinking about the game and the game plan, by making the suggestions to him of playing a more balanced team.(big is usually slow) Speed and ball skills can beat size any day.
how much smaller is a little smaller.
i play on the university squad and no one is under 190 lbs
i personally am 6′3″ 255lbs but i do believe this is something that you should discuss with your COACH (not couch) and not with a bunch of strangers
The talking on the coach thinks you have some shortcomings ask him and work hard at that.
